It's not my top priority at the moment, but once I get everything figured out, where would I buy the retrofit kit from? I haven't spent much time on the subject, but in the little bit of time I have spent, I haven't seen any kits, just people in California that will do the whole job if you drive the car to them. Thanks very much for the reply on that, since it will end up being a priority eventually, and I always welcome help.

you should be able to get all the pecess at napa. you will need a new compreser and recver dryer if the system is r12 and you want to go to r134a. Oh and you will need refrigarant adapters for your fill and check ports. i will put it all in for you if you get the parts

i can't spell but if you stare at it long enuff it looks like a hiden vr6

I dropped the motor off today at Jacobs Engine in Missoula, and I'm having him do the complete bottom end and top end, along with all the timing components and a clutch.
Any chance anyone in the Missoula area might be interested in helping me put this back into the car in a week or two?
I'm getting the motor done right, I'd like to make sure that I'm putting it in right.

Thanks VRT, I'm up in Arlee, so I'm more than happy to give you gas money, and a big meal (steaks, as long as you're not vegetarian,) I'm hoping to have the motor back next Wednesday, but I'm getting a new CNC delivered at work next week, so I'll probably be at work all next weekend getting it into the shop and setup, so the car is probably going to have to wait until the following weekend. If you PM me with your phone number, I'll get in touch with you about it.
Oh, and as far as the A/C, I'm probably going to just leave it off, since my wife will be driving this car most of the time, and she refuses to use the A/C in her truck, even when it's 100 degrees, so she says it's a waste of money.

I've got my motor back, completely stripped, but brand spanking new. It's .020 over on the pistons, the head is completely new and stock. Just looking for a little help to get it together and into the car. Anyone interested in lending some advice, please let me know. As soon as this one is done, I'm hoping for a rabbit pickup project with my other diesel.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to need a little help getting it back in. The only motors I've ever played with before were in Camaros and Beetles. I managed to get it out to get it rebuilt, but I'm really unsure of getting it back in. I'm waiting on a few parts, (mainly the head gasket, and a new alternator bracket, since I'm not putting the A/C back in,) but hopefully I'll have everything set to go in next weekend.Need some help popping that engine in man?
And what kind of CNC machine?
As far as my CNC's, I have 2 Star SB-16's, a Star SE-12, and 3 Star SA-12's. I wish they were larger, since I could have some fun with them making miscellaneous car parts, but most of what we run on them is .1562" diameter or smaller stock, and our finished product is usually around .008" +/- .0001" at it's smallest point (yes, we do try to stick to a ten thousandth of an inch tolerance, our one SA-12 was special ordered to be accurate down to .00001", which is insane, even in the medical field.) The SE-12 is a 10 year old machine that we just bought cheap, and that's the one we set up last weekend, and I got it running the other day. So far, it's holding a .0005 tolerance, on the same turning insert, for over 4000 parts at a shot, (around 18 hours on one turning insert, on 440 stainless, and we're still keeping our .0001 tolerance using the tool offsets, we just don't have to use them as much as the other machines,) so we're really happy with it even though it's an antique.
Do you do CNC machining?

Well maybe we can work some out with coming up and putting it n. I have a few friends who would be willing to run up there!
I don't do CNC Machining but my boss was looking at getting them to make cool gun parts that no one makes so I know a little about them. That's a damn accurate machine haha. Japanese made I'm sure?
