Tonight I replaced all the frayed vacuum lines with silicone and repaired all the cracked and cobbled wiring I could find with solder and heatshrink. It's looking better already. Gotta get this thing ready for the snow!
What did you do for your Audi today? :)

I bought another...1984 4000S quattro for 300 bucks. I towed it home, but drove it into the garage
Not too bad of shape but plenty to do before it's reliable. There is definitely a fueling issue I need to tend to but maybe the pump is just gummed up. I'll throw some B-12 chemtool in there and see what happens.

Here's how it looked coming right off the trailer. Props to Trevor and Rob for lending a hand winching this turd on to it! It's obviously a bit neglected and dirty but has lot's of potential. Should make for another fun winter ride for now and then eventually a fun summer ride. Much to do, much to do...

Went to put in that new ABS module I picked up off EBay and promptly broke it separating it from the pump. GRRRRR.....

Sweet Richie! Thats a nice photo. Looks like the front lip fared out okay? Why was it not running?
It's not how fast you go. It's how well you go fast.

Hey thanks! Yeah the lip is fine...I haven't done anything with it yet but it's barely noticeable anyways. I think a little fiberglass in the future will be all it would need.
There were probably multiple reasons why it wasn't running but I think the biggest reasons were the intake leaks. Most of the vac lines were rotted and the main intake boot was cracked and not even fully seated. I don't think the CIS had enough vacuum to lift the fuel plate up causing the temporary running. Of course new grounds, starting cables, repaired wiring, along with tightened belts go a long ways too. Wish me luck, I'm driving it to work in the mornin!
