I hope those all worked!!!
this car has quite the story, It was built in the us, sold in switzerland, november 6th of 86. it's actually car number 413. it came back to the us in 1990 with 40,000 miles on it. I am trying to conferm, but i was told that it was a one owner the whole time. it's got some chipped paint that resulted in minor rust spots. but is over all in fantastic condition!!!! when i found it for sale i don't think the person selling it knew what they had, and it also needed a radiator and still need's a couple of cv shafts, I would love opinions as to what it's worth, and how rare it may be, especially with the kamei kit including the x1 stickers and all.

That kit isnt super rare per say, however it is the cleanest and in best shape one ive ever seen! you have a real gem here, and great looking mk2. it deserves the love! there is one of those in the helena junkyard, and it is THRASHED! not an uncracked piece on it.

For sure. It is one of the cleanest that I've seen. I would say it's a keeper.

I've found in my many years of buying and selling all of the cars/trucks/toys I've owned that a vehicle is only worth as much as you are willing to sell it for.
I'd say this one is a keeper! :)

You seem to be really interested in what the value is...I saw your post on the vortex too. As you know the car isn't a special edition. It does have a fairly rare body kit in great condition on it. You could probably get 500 for the kit alone. But this is America so it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. To a hardcore mk2 enthusiast it is priceless. Are you looking to turn it for a large profit or are you a Mk2 enthusiast?

hm... a large profit? no. I bought the car because i thought it was neat. I hadn't seen one quite like it with the body kit and all. I probably wouldn't consider myself a hardcore mk2 enthusiest. I do like the car, and vw's in general, although i typically lean to the aircooled variety. Anyhow, I will be selling my truck,(anybody need a 2000 tundra?) so i was needed something to drive between vehicles, and this came up. it's a nice car with a neat story but i was having trouble finding information on the kamei kit, so I came here! vortex didn't really have much response. Will I be selling the car? probably. I change vehicles like most people change their underwear. Plus, i drive a company truck most of the time, so the golf wouldn't get the road time that it deserves.

Cool. I was just giving you a direct answer because I wasn't sure which way you wanted to go with it...that being said if you sell it post it on the enthusiasts sites and you should get a decent return on your investment. Or keep if for ever ;)
