Just ordered a set of rebuilt heads from Bug-Patch. Maybe it will be up and running in a week or two.

Bolted the tranny and shifter back in. All new shifter bushings made a huge difference. The shifter has no slop and goes in to all gears good...so far. Hopefully it is the same on the road.

The heads finally showed up! Crack free, new guides, new exhaust valves, 3 angle valve job, and flycut. Then I swapped in some HD valve springs, chromoly retainers and keepers. Hopefully it will be running next weekend.
