Anyone in Bozeman area willing to help a noob with a TB job?

Post by GNelson »

Hi all,
Just heard about this forum from a VW guy.

I'm looking for someone to help me with my first timing belt/Water pump/seals job on a '99 A4 2.8qms. I feel fairly confident in my technical abilities but just feel a little apprehensive about doing the job without someone to look over my shoulder. I don't really have that much mechanical experience. Anyway, hoping to get this done before the end of the semester at MSU (5/9). Thanks in advance for replying.

I have no experience with Timing belts but I have a fair amount of tools and would be glad to come along and help.

I'm hoping to have my timing belt done sometime in May, not sure what my schedule is going to be. If I do mine, I'll lend a hand.

I decided to tear into it myself with a VW guy for backup...(I'm not sure what his user name is on here, but I know he's on here somewhere.)

I now am ready to pull the camshaft seals, but I don't have the Audi tool. Anyone have suggestions for how to get them out??
