So I'm going to flush the tranny on my wagon. I'm thinking of taking it to a shop, but to save the coin, has anyone flushed a VR tranny before that could possibly help me or give me the advise on how to do it myself. Thanks.

Agreed - buy the parts and pay for the labor.

You'd pay less going to Staley's or another indie shop - they do a fine job IMHO.

I did not think Staley's did stuff like that I thought they only did tires, and rotates. I was actually checking around at shops, and I'm going to check with the Conoco by our house, they did a good job on our van and their prices were reasonable. I don't know why I thought Dana, it is just a change, not a full flush. Thanks for the good info.

if it is an auto have it flushed it is the only way to get all the old fluid out and then replace the trany filter and reseal the pan if it is a 5 speed just drain and fill

If it's an auto DO NOT flush it. Paying for a flush is a huge rip off. Just change the fluid and be done with it.

It is an auto, I was thinking I'd flush it just to get the gunk out, but I'll drain and fill and see if it fixes the problems I have been having with it, if a drain does not help I'll flush it the next time.

You need vagcom to fill it correctly.
