Well, earlier this week, the uberwagon made it maiden voyage around the neighborhood! She fired right up to my surprise and seems to run smoother already...I guess all those hidden vac lines and seals were on their way out... Need to do a little brake work and then it will become my daily again, just in time for winter! Oh yea, and the ski rack is bolted on too!

Turns out my 'rebuilt' power steering pump was faulty so I wasn't getting any pressure to assist my steering and brakes. A quick swap back to the old one (after I cleaned it up a bit) and everything worked as it should. Reinstalled the front end and took her for a spin. Seems to boost quite a bit sooner now with the larger exhaust valves and reconfigured manifold so that's nice. I need 500 miles on it to break in the clutch, then I can push it a little more...but triple digits come up much quicker now!

Sucks that the rebuild wasn't any good. But at least you got it back on the road.

Rotated the tires. I noticed some uneven wear on the front tires. And there seems to be a noise coming from the rotors mostly on low speed turns. So I guess my next move is new front rotors/pads and an alignment.

Retorqued the headstuds yesterday and gave her an oil change. I cycled through about 800 miles since the rebuild and wanted to do the oil change at 500 but shit kept coming up. Runs great, now I just need to throw the BPV on. It's like running into a wall when that throttle snaps shut on boost. Why the factory never had one on these cars is a mystery.

That's a nice update on the interior, haven't found the motivation for it yet though. Look forward to some pics.

Fixed my radiator fan today. Found out there was no continuity over the factory fuse on the grounded leg. I tried cleaning the contacts but it didn't seem to work so I replaced it with a Maxi 80 amp fuse holder and fuse (factory rating!) and ran an additional ground. She stays nice and cool again. Woohoo!

I've had this Forge 007 DV for over a year now, and finally spent the two hours it takes to install the damn thing. This should've been done several years ago when I picked up the 5K! I'm actually surprised how much of a change it made inbetween shifts. The car just feels stronger now since the turbo isn't losing much spool. It feels like how a turbo car is supposed to feel!
I have an Intended Acceleration chip in there which hits almost 15psi. I went through the different springs that were included with the DV and ended up with the green spring (5-15psi) and one shim. Without the shim, the turbo pressure would push the piston open and with just the yellow spring (15-23psi) It seemed I was only releasing on the very top end of the pressure so I felt the green with one shim was a good balance between the two. The sound is very subtle and I can only really hear it when I have the windows down which is what I like. Here's some pics:

The DV location makes it a little more of a pain to get to the air filter which is terrible to begin with but spring tuning the DV was a breeze.
