I started working on the Jetta a little. I needed more projects for the students in one of my classes so I have one of them tinkering on the beast. I still can't do much as the doc still has an eight pound max for right arm. It's getting new shocks, struts, and some used rims and tires. Not much yet, but at least its a step in right direction

If it still looks like it has a lift on it when its setting on all four, I might have to get springs.

I was given another scirocco. I don't think this one is salvageable. It has lots of good parts though, the interior is actually pretty good.

Suspension is full of new bushings and struts, unfortunately just stock. It still needs door handles put on when they get here, and a drivers door latch when I find a good one. Power steering pump was replaced with a used one so i can steer with one arm. The shifting is still kinda sketchy with the gimpy arm, but I can't wait to get some mileage instead of driving the Suburban.

It's not the nicest ride, but the price was right and there is no rust.

I like the shi+ out of that car!
It's not how fast you go. It's how well you go fast.

I keep picturing your 2.0 16 valve under the hood instead of the 1.6. I have a guy interested in my Golf GT, if he comes through I might have to give you a call.

I found another toy. I picked up a 79 rabbit with a 1.6TD swapped into it. It is the first nonTDI VW diesel I have driven that is actually fun to drive. The turbo is leaking a little, does anyone know a good place for rebuilding turbos. It runs good, but smokes a little on acceleration until the boost comes up and then it cleans up. There are some things to fix up and the intercooler install needs cleaned up, but it drives nice and should get some decent mileage.
