YNP Cruise

Post by 1FUN S8 »

Hey guys,
Picked up your YNP cruise info on Audiworld.com forums. Pretty set on making the trip from Denver. A quick question for you, someone asked earlier in the pages about the road conditions, but I didn't ever see a response. Does anyone know the state of the roads on the proposed course? Are they paved? Concerned about clearance issues. Thanks

I know it's hard to believe and all but yes, Montana does have paved roads! ;)

As far as I know the entire cruise is paved. I also know that the national parks are good about keeping their roads kept up well because of all the tourism.
You should be good to go! That's awesome your making it from Denver!

I'm not a complete foreigner to that area, spent some time there when I lived in Washington (I love Glacier NP), so the question wasn't from a complete idiots point of view, but never made it through Yellowstone. I don't have a ton of front clearance and didn't want an already expensive trip to end up including a few grand on some bumper work due to not asking.

Someone posted earlier there was another planning to come from Denver, hopefully that's the case.

Thanks for the help. Looking forward to it!

There were some spots in YNP that may require a quick dodge but nothing I saw that couldn't be avoided. I am hoping to get my front end redone before I go so I will be with you on avoiding as much as possible. We will have to get the danger signals worked out such as flashing hazards and using turn signals to signal danger to one side.

I am working on radio's still. I will for sure have enough for the a Front Runner, Mid pack, further back, and a rear gaurd. May be able to get a few more if no one else is renting from us. Still getting it worked out whether or not we will be able to use any repeaters along the way, it all depends upon if anyone rents from us. I will for sure have a radio with Montana Hi Po, Park Service and any others I can snatch up that we will encounter on the way there. I may be sporting a tall whip for the trip tho

Sorry man, I never meant it like you were an idiot or anything like that man. I was just making fun of that perception sometimes.
I too love GNP!!! I am sure you'll be fine though. I do believe there was someone else from Denver that was talking about making the cruise too but not sure right off hand who it was. Maybe check out the thread we have on VWvortex, he may have posted on there. That would be cool if you guys could drive up together.
Glad to see your planning on making it though. Nice to have some out of staters making this trip!
I'll buy ya a beer while your up here!

I have a couple of Motorola Talk-About 2-way radios I can bring along if that helps at all. Lemme know!
