I'm not sure where you went or what you did but it sounds awesome! (Would like more details) Are those brake pads minus the pad and crazy warped?! Maybe time for bigger brakes? Not yet. House projects are getting funded first. Putting a new roof on this spring so we've been saving our money to do metal. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated when we start on it.

I knew of the cars location long before I knew the cars owner. Became friends with his step son unknowingly. When I first found out it was his he told me the kbb on it was $3500 and I said no way. But when he changed his mind to 500 I got first dibs. Plans at this point. Keep patina. Rebuild motor. ...

Woot. I'm joining the air cooled population as I just picked up my first one since my first car (Baja). Keeping the patina for now, one owner 60k mile car that's been sitting for the last 20 years is going to be getting a new life in the form of a fun sleeper. Will post more pics when I get her home...

any updates on this? any range of dates being looked at? we see a VW (i'm guessing air cooled) gathering is happening in glacier being advertised on various sites (facebook and i think craigslist)

i found a 5000 cs with a 5cyl turbo quattro motor in a junkyard today, guy said 200 for the whole engine. putting it out there so you guys know of it. is that a good price for one? thinking of it in terms of a project to practice rebuilding a motor to swap into something like a rabbit later?
