Re: Tropic Orange GTI

Yeah I hear it's a rare color, it does look nice in person. I like how it shifts from orange to an reddish orange depending on the light. Sorry for the wait on more pics been pretty busy lately, I'll try to get some shortly! Edit: My clutch is no long slipping now that it has warmed up a bit here in...

Tropic Orange GTI

I just picked up a 2000 GTI GLX, I'm loving it so far. I found it for sale on Craigslist in Colorado Springs it was advertised as clean although I wouldn't quite call it that but it's not bad. Big step up from the MK3 Jetta that I had been driving. It's not perfect of course but it doesn't seem to n...

Re: Jetta III 2.0 Clutch labor cost

Here's an update for you guys, picked up a manual adjust clutch cable from german auto parts. Just had it put in yesterday and it solved the problem. As a bonus the pedal feel is great now as well.

Thanks,
Anthony

Re: Jetta III 2.0 Clutch labor cost

Get an older style, non auto-adjusting cable? If the clutch engages completely I'd say just drive it till it feels normal. Have you checked a Bentley manual for install/adjust procedure? If it sounds like a cable problem I'll go ahead and pick up a manual adjusting cable to replace the auto adjuste...

Re: Jetta III 2.0 Clutch labor cost

A friend of mine put in my new clutch and flywheel for me. He brought the car back the other night and the clutch seems to hold great and it shifts smooth but the engagement point is now just a few inches above the floor and the pedal only returns back up about 1/4 of the way. On Vortex someone said...

Has anyone here dealt with am-autoparts? I was looking at the oem one they have on there.

Bolt on cat-back exhaust for a Jetta III?

Hey, I've been looking to try and find a cheap bolt on cat-back for my Jetta as the current one is rusty and leaking. I don't need anything spectacular, just has to be bolt on. The car is a 2.0L with a manual transmission.

Thanks

Re: Jetta III 2.0 Clutch labor cost

Cool, ended up getting a friend of mine to agree to help me out that has some experience doing them (just not in a vw). Hopefully going to be ordering the new clutch kit this week! Anyone have any recommendations for a cheap clutch that should last awhile with a stock 2.0?
