How often should we replace the tranny fluid? im at 60k... good time? It's really a "lifetime" fluid, and you will find no service interval on changing the fluid, but many people change it. I suppose you could change it anytime, but unless its contaminated it's not necessary - the case it...

The enemy of brake fluid is moisture. We have a meter at my shop that has green, yellow, red light to indicate the percentage of moisture. Chris' Custom VW in Spokane is not far from you and they can rebuild or supply parts, possibly cheaper than you can get there. Shipping can be arranged.

Their Transmission specialist is Gordy, who is 72, and has been rebuilding VW trannys for a long, long time.

The #1 cause of a check engine light, just after getting gas, with the car running good is the gas cap. Either you did not get it on all the way, something got under the seal, or the cap needs replacement.

At least 10% of the check engine lights I've scanned were for the gas cap!!!
